Petaluma Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant or RVT to join our team. You may only know us from our funny sign, but we are a well established (since 1946) busy, 2.5 doctor AAHA-Accredited practice that provides state-of-the-art medical and surgical service to dogs and cats.

We are large enough to see and treat many interesting cases but small enough that you don’t feel like a number-- but as part of a team. We are fully equipped with computerized record keeping, in-house and send-out bloodwork, surgical and dental suites, digital radiography (including dental) and ultrasound.

Qualified candidates should have the ability to do the following:
*Obtain blood and urine samples from patients (venipuncture and cysto)
*Place IV catheters and surgical prep
*Monitor anesthesia during procedures
*Give vaccines
*Position and take x-rays

Duties include but are not limited to:
*Run in-house labwork
*Take histories and vitals
*Lift large dogs and able to properly restrain animals during examinations and treatment
*Assist in surgery and recovery
*Perform dental cleanings
*Trim nails, express anal glands and remove sutures
